Citepa accompanies Uzbekistan on Climate Adaptation as part of a project supported by Expertise France

The Citepa is delighted to be part of a project to strengthen the MRV system in Uzbekistan, supported by Expertise France.

During the week of October 20, two of Citepa’s adaptation experts, Ludivine COZETTE and Hortense REGNAUT, had the pleasure of travelling to Tashkent to train representatives from various ministries in climate change adaptation monitoring and evaluation tools, as well as the associated reporting mechanisms.

Throughout the four-day session, they presented the conceptual framework associated with adaptation monitoring and evaluation, as well as the latest methodological advances in the field, notably in relation to work on the Global Goal on Adaptation, the Global Stocktake and the enhanced transparency framework specifically for adaptation established by Article 13 of the Paris Agreement and defined within decision 18/CMA.1.

At the heart of the key themes of the forthcoming COP29 in Baku, the training was fueled with insightful sessions with the participants on the issues surrounding the establishment of a national monitoring, evaluation and learning system and associated indicators for Uzbekistan, which will be the subject of the continuation of the project in 2025.

Citepa is therefore thrilled to continue working on these issues in 2025, supporting the Parties in implementing the Paris Agreement on adaptation. Contact us if you’d like to find out more about our projects and explore opportunities for collaboration!
